I think some of it is over their heads, but I look at it as if I'm laying the foundation for the middle and high teachers.EHThttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17964668210604436937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20993778.post-1151200577554711112006-06-24T21:56:00.000-04:002006-06-24T21:56:00.000-04:00Wow, EHT! But now I'm not sure that my seniors know much more about the Constitution than your fourth graders do when you get through with them. Times have changed so much since then, and now there are so many gray areas.

Of course who would be trusted enough to do it justice, is another issue altogether...Janethttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08262988549970554970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20993778.post-1151183263919641312006-06-24T17:07:00.000-04:002006-06-24T17:07:00.000-04:00Another way to think about the Constitution is tha...Another way to think about the Constitution is that it is a great document because people have continuously reinterpreted according to the times in which they live. In the way, we have enabled the Constitution to speak for all ages. If our ancestors had used the Constitution for political purposes, as the current generation is trying to do, not only would the Constitution have stopped speaking for all ages, it wouldn't even have spoken to the present age. If the Constituion is going to be a great document we need to remember that it is more important than most contemporary disagreements.

Andy Pass
http://www.Pass-Ed.com/blogger.htmlAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20993778.post-1151174156542145062006-06-24T14:35:00.000-04:002006-06-24T14:35:00.000-04:00Thanks for the support guys. I understand the reasoning behind their actions but don't trifle with my Constitution, you know.

Hi 40! But, nothing has ever matched the effectiveness of our Constitution.

I agree with NYC Educator. The latest efforts to amend our Constitution are just election year politics, period. Raise a conservative issue (that you know will never pass) to get people's attention and drive them to vote.Duezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13297380628744711569noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20993778.post-1151160647301676772006-06-24T10:50:00.000-04:002006-06-24T10:50:00.000-04:00I agree with you, but I think some legislators fee...I agree with you, but I think some legislators feel it's enough to give the appearance that they want to change the constitution, and don't much care whether their efforts are successful.

Basically, they're opportunities to give speeches, enhance PR, and that's it.NYC Educatorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12188066345722781723noreply@blogger.com
