13 Reasons Why I Hope I Wake Up to ICE
1. A snow or ice day to a teacher is like winning the lottery---I’m desperate to feel like a winner.
2. It would be nice to get caught up with laundry.
3. Dear Hubby needs help with paperwork for the business he owns.
4. I would be able to get my grades online.
5. A room or two might get cleaned ( or not).
6. I could watch two episodes of Frasier back-to-back between 10 and 11 on the Lifetime channel.
7. A day without squabblers, whiners, and lollygaggers…….
8. The trees and ground looks absolutely “loverly” crusted over with ice.
9. Watching the Atlanta news crews making any sign of ice (even a crystal or two) into the most major story of the year.
10. Why wouldn’t I want a cozy day stuck inside when it’s so pretty and sparkly and white outside?
11.Extra time to work on writing projects…
12. Extra time to read something….anything other than student writing.
13. Time….just the simple gift of time.
I guess great minds think alike. My TT is up on my 13 reasons I want snow. lol
ReplyDeleteI can relate. Living up here in the NE, what there has been is a serious deficit of snow. Although the meterologists are predicting a wintry mix for Friday. We'll see. It may be our first snow day, or, at the very least, a delay.:)
ReplyDeleteSnow and a day off would be lovely ... unfortunately it got up to 14 degrees here yesterday! So I'm in school this morning
ReplyDeleteWe all do need an extra time for something. I do need an extra time for myself.
ReplyDeleteMy T13 is up too.
Great list...ours are similar! : )
ReplyDeleteHope ya get all ya wanted.
Too many things to do, too little time:-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my Sunflower blog and supporting me! Welcome back anytime.
I will Exercise for Comments!
Sunflower
LOL! You could always just take a day off...
ReplyDeleteHappy TT. :-)
That's one of the disadvantages of homeschooling, no ice, snow or bad weather days.
ReplyDeleteAlthough one of the advantages is I can make sure we have spring break when the weather is gorgeous.
It sounds like you really need some quality time for yourself! If that helps, I hope you wake up to ice!
ReplyDeleteMy TT is about music preferences.
As a former school teacher, I can totally relate!
ReplyDeleteTime...may you find a little here and a little there...just enough to restore your soul.
ReplyDeletesnow and ice is great, as long as you don't need to go anywhere :)
ReplyDeleteTime ah...I wish days would be just a tat bit longer, and I wasn't so tired in the evenings, then at least I would have the feeling that I wasn't working and sleeping all my life. :)
And if your students are all praying for a day off too maybe you'll get the ice gods' attention.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your reasons! I would love a day home as well...a day where I didn't feel guilty about not getting to work-related stuff because it is a "free" day. I could actually spend time doing some things I want do before doing my actual work....

ReplyDeleteI have tried on a couple of occations to explain to my Phoenix-born students the true magic and joy of "snow days". You are soooo right that it is just like "winning the lotery" or even the joy you get in finding a freshly washed $5 bill in your jean pocket that you forgot about.
ReplyDeleteI think we should have "heat days" - any time the temp reaches 115, school is cancelled!!!
I so, so, so miss the days of snow and ice--only for this reason ALONE! No sand days or wind days either. It stinks living in the desert sometimes!
ReplyDeleteLollygaggers.....
ReplyDelete"You guys...you lollygag the ball around the infield. You lollygag your way down to first. You lollygag in and out of the dugout. You know what that makes you? Larry!"
"Lollygaggers!"
I just couldn't resist....
