There are very few cyberspace images of this individual available....yet he had an important job during the American Revolution. What did this gentlement do? Which future president did he influence?Look at his shirt cuffs.....I bet those were very inconvenient as they drug across a freshly written page.

At first I thought it looked like William Pitt the Elder (of Stamp Tax Repeal fame),
ReplyDeleteI have tried to match the portrait to someone born in the early 1700's as the clothing and wig suggest someone who would have been an elder statesman, merchant, etc. during the revolution.
And it's not George Mason, Arthur Lee, Richard Henry Lee, Silas Deane, ...the list goes on.

ReplyDeleteHolly guessed the doctor that influenced John Adams. She may be referring to Dr. Warren....he was killed at Bunker (Breed's Hill). Unfortunately my gentlemen is not Dr. Warren.
He was involved early in one of the Founding Father's lives.
I think it is John Locke or maybe Jean Jacques Rousseau; both were "involved" early in the lives of several of the Founding Fathers. That's my guess on this cold, cold night. Back to the lesson plans.
