Not a sturgeon....not a salmon. It was not served at the Last Supper, and the flag doesn't make it sacred in this case.

All I have been able to discover, is that if you Google "Sacred Fish", you wind up with some weird results. I'm still trying to figure out what the "Brethren of the Sacred Fish" is about. This should be an interesting one.

I've been scanning fish all morning!

It almost looks like a haddock and there's a mark on it many fisheren call the 'Devil's Thumbprint' or 'St. Peter's Mark'.

I think your photo is of one suspended from a natural history museum or an aquarium. (Atlanta's is quite famous, but I'm not sure it's that one.)
