Wordless 59...America: A Great Nation

This is the USS New York. Some of the steel used to create this military vessel actually came from the ruins of the Twin Towers in New York.

Remember…..my theme is America: A Great Nation. So what do you think? Has our reaction to 9-11 made us a great nation? Does our military might make us a great nation?

You can find out more about the USS New York here.

The great response to 9/11 was the great human outpouring of sympathy and support in the artifacts that surrounded St. Paul's Chapel or arrived in the form of food for the distressed. And the rescue workers who arrived. And the Methodists who provided spiritual sustenance. And others. That was stunningly beautiful.

Really? That was quite an idea to recycle some of it into a masterpiece like this!

Oooh, trying to stir up the hornet's nest, are we? lol

I'm going with Sandy here. There was a great outpouring of sacrifice, dedication and sympathy to those who suffered through 9/11.

I think it was a great idea to use some of the steel to create the ship. I agree we live in a great nation. I am thankful to God for it everyday. I remind students every chance I can that we are very privileged to live where we do. It is sad that it takes tragedy at times for us to rally and forget our differences of opinions. "I am proud to be an American where at least I know I'm free...."
